SETTING:

TIME   : The story took place during the apartheid government act.
PLACE: The story is the oriental plaza in Johannesburg a shopping centre where the shops are owned by indian people

PLOT SUMMARY

The silk scarf is all about apartheid in the oriental plaza in Johannesbarg. At first the story discribe one of the wife of an important official of the African front, The husband was Clive Nebo and his wife Mrs Nebo. Mrs Nebo one of the day she went at the oriental plaza to do her shopping together with her escort and Margrate, she bough an Indian dress and she was still in need of a scarf but she could not find it and she procceed on looking in other shops, when she find the scarf that she was looking for she went at the teller for payments but unfortunately she was not having enough money, she claim to pay by cheque but the shopkeeper refuse since they only accept cash payments. Margaret and the bodyguide where complaining that Mrs Nebo is the wife of the future minister of forreig affairs and she live in Houghton but Mr Sakur ignored because he was against the apartheid act finnaly Mr Sader who is also a shop owner in the plaza give money to buy the scarf as a gift because they are there to make customers happy but that was just an excuse because they are affraid of the police and the Alsatians.

CHARACTORS:

Mrs Nebo: She was the wife of the future minister of foreign affairs and she was the protagonist in the story, she was of medium height, with heavy loins, and slight with a lovely smile and teeth. She wanted to be treated differentry from other people but some people where against her.

Mr Sakur: He was a shopkeeper in one of the shop in the oriental plaza. He was the antagonist in the story who was against Mr Nebo's decision of buying by cheque.
